The Spanish Nationals have appeared on the match calendar, and I feel this is a perfect opportunity for a shooting trip with a holiday vibe. So I have registered for the match and am currently prepping for travel at the end of the month.
The usual format of European Firearms Permit and a Match Invitation in the hosting country is generally adequate to clear a foreign border. But due to cost and logistics I will be flying to Portugal and driving to Spain.
So I ask, is there anything unusual I should know about transit in either of these countries ?
Has anyone travelled through Faro airport with firearms, and was it an easy process.
Also, does a Match Invitation in one country carry any influence in an airport of another or should I be aware of additional forms or paperwork to clear airport security in Faro or to cross the border from Portugal to Spain ?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated
Colin
